John P. Jewett, Boston, MA, 1854. 1st Edition VG, Hard Cover, DJ Not Issued. Size=5"x7.5", 356pgs. Original binding with bright gold stamped spine letters & design. Covers have a clear shellac on them for preservation reasons, one would guess. Cloth nicked head & foot of spine, 1/8" cloth chip foot of spine, slight cloth wear at one fore-edge corner, a few tiny foxing specks on Title Page & endpapers, o.w. clean, bright & tight. No ink names, bookplates, etc. Folding map has a 4" tear from spine hinge starting inward that has been neatly tapemended on back of map.
